Chapter Special Project Funds Awarded

ASIS&T is pleased to announce that two chapters have been awarded funds to pursue Special Projects in FY22. The details of each project follows:

Africa Chapter
As a new Chapter with immense potential as a source of new ASIS&T members, the Chapter sought funding to build its membership base and encourage participation, through the following: (a) enhance members’ professional development and learning experience through two online workshops on grant writing and online research platforms; (b) build article writing skills through mentorship programme to 10 mentees; and promote the Chapter by producing video and awarding members who organize local events.
Total Award: $5,000

South Asia Chapter
The Chapter will set up a YouTube channel to host multilingual videos for disseminating awareness on a variety of topics on Covid-19 in the South Asia region. They will collaborate with the Asia Pacific and European Chapter to bring in their experience in dealing with similar viruses in the past. We expect that the content for these videos will help in fighting misinformation and disinformation regarding Covid-19 information by citing accurate and reliable sources of information. These videos will be promoted through various social media platforms and results of the project will be shared through webinars and a poster presentation in ASIS&T AM 2022.
